Boston area company needs an Oracle Project Manager to lead implementations
conversion efforts to replace aging legacy systems with a totally integrated
Oracle ERP system over the next 2 to 3 years.
A phased implementation will require up front coordination of many key
master data decisions to ensure integration in the end, e.g. standard chart of accounts, common
part number scheme, common customer and supplier master file.
The Project Manager, working in conjunction with the CIO, will drive these
decisions during 2002 and then ensure compliance in all locations going forward.
There will be an external Oracle implementation partner to manage the system
configuration and roll out...so although solid technical skills are needed for this
position, the primary role will be that of the facilitator.
* Candidates local to the Greater Boston area are highly desired and will be
given first consideration
This is a full time staff position so no sub-contractors or third parties
please.
*Responsibilities:
The Oracle Project Manager will take prime responsibility for overseeing the
implementation.
Responsibilities will include:
Work with Implementation Partner Project Manager in the development of a detailed project plan, identify and securing Client’s
project team members as suggested.
Communicate the project scope and milestones to the project team.
Present the business goals, to all team members and communicate in the
appropriate format this same message to Client Executive Management team.
Make adequate facilities and resources available for the implementation team.
Chair regular project meetings to get updates from team leads and discuss
outstanding issues.
Weekly update the project plan with input from Partner’s Project Manager.
Manage the rolling schedules of both Client and Partner resources.
Together with Partner Project Manager, manage the scope of the implementation .
*Requirements:
-10 Years of Project Management experience.
-3 years of Oracle Applications implementation experience in a manufacturing
environment.. 11i and multi-site experience preferred. Supply Chain
E-commerce experience preferred.
-Demonstrated successes in IT project implementations.
-Excellent communication and change management skills.
-Business knowledge/experience in manufacturing/high tech preferred.
-Excellent negotiation skills.
-Ability to operate effectively at all levels of management.
-U.S. citiznehsip or permanent residency
