I wish to know the procedure to put data from serial port into the oracle (oracle 8.0 or higher) RDBMS

Hi,

Oracle cannot read data from a serial port. You will need to buy or write a program that does that. If you choose to write it yourself, you can embed SQL statements into the program to update the database. See the Oracle Precompilers FAQ for details - http://www.orafaq.com/faqpro.htm
