Hello.
I have the following problem in building an ER diagram for a library.
The library has the following members : professors,
undergraduate students,postgraduate students
and material : books, cd/roms, vidocassetes.
A member can borrow a book (date of borrowing and date of return are kept)
but each member has certain rights for borrowing. For example professors can borrow
up to 10 books for 90 days,postgraduate up to 7 books for 60 days.
if I have a realtionship borrows as following :
members --> borrows <-- books and borrows has as attributes "date of borrowing"
and "date of return" where should I put the rights of borrowing ;
Should I make relationships as
professor -->rights <-- books
postgraduate --> rights <-- books
students --> rights <-- books
Can a certain relationship ( here rights) be associated with 3 different entities ;
How can I handle this ;
Any help could be really valuable to me.

please can you draw the diagram of entity relationship diagram with it's definition...
i'm asking this because of our tutorial is due on this friday....
i hope you help me on tis diagram...
