Hi,
Iam getting an error like "Java.exe has generated error & will be closed by windows, you will need to restart the system"
This started happening only after the installation of oracle 8i enterprise edition in Windows 2000 Prof. machine(P4).
In fact i have changed the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old, as suggested in one of the forum pages, and started the installation. However while installation it generates a warning like Java.exe has generated an error.
Whenever i start workin on any other application this message keep poping up and the machine hangs.
Any clue what is the possible solution for it?

Thanks
Regards
Bijish

try to stop OracleHTTPServer Service
and set it start manuallly
(Control Panel,Admin Tools Services)
if you only use Database
the only required services are:
1. The TNSListener
2. The Service of the Database
(i.e Oracle..ServiceORCL)
