Hello,

I would like to know how can one find out the list of ALL files related to Oracle instance. The purpose might be to know what should be backed up.
For example I know some systems on mainfrme where you can ask:
"Give me the list of all files managed by such a system" and you will get the list.
Of course DBA should know which files/directories he/she has set up. But sometimes there is no documentation and you would have to go through all file options in DBA Studio.

Connect as SYS and query these views for what u want.

v$controlfile - where your control files are
v$logfile - where your redo logs are
v$datafile - where your data files are
