When I install Oracle 8i Personal Edition on Win200, there is always an error message
Invalid staging area. There are no top level components for Windows NT available for install from this staging area.
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks
Jenny

Sir
Hello
I want help for the installation of Oracle 8i on Win2000 or WinXP Professional. When running the Oralce8i Universal Installer, it displays autorun screen and at some point the CD-ROM stops, ends abruptly, and returns the user to the desk top. No errors or text are displayed. I have even run the CD lens cleaner but it's not workinng out.

Please do the following procedure:
1. Copy the installation CD into the Hard
2. go to the following directory:
C:Oracle-FilesstageComponentsoracle.swd.jre1.1.7.301DataFilesExpandedjrewin32bin
3. Rename the 'sysmcjit.dll' to 'sysmcjit.dll.old'
4.run 'setup' program from this directory:
C:Oracle-Filesinstallwin32setup

Amir Emami
