Can someone tell me if there is a tool available in mapping files in VMS?  The tool I'm referring too is similar to what Fileaid does in Mainframe.

Hi

The closest to FileAid you will find in any other operating system is the Shell and command tools.

VMS has DCL (DEC command language) which is a poorly implemented shell based loosely on Fortran, the command line set is as good as most operating systems but there are enormous gaps in the shell, like no proper handling of named or anonymous pipes.

Try http://www.openfieldsolutions.co.uk/library/vms/vms_commands.html for a decent list of VMS examples.
