Sir,

I tried

Username :- scott
Password :- tiger
hotstring : - ora8i

but it is not giving me reply. I installed Oracle 8i on Win2000. Plz tell me the way to go through this.

Hi,
there is no default installation for scott/tiger. You have to run a script which you find in the directory of all the scrips (sorry forgot the name, like example ). With this script you create scott/tiger

I'll look up today and tomorrow I let you know the name of the script.

i need this for my project

there are any other username and password except scott and tiger?
how about username : system. can i used it?
how a bout the password?

i have locked all off the username when i installed oracle 10g. that`s wrong or not?

what should i do?
i`m desperate.....
pls help me...

Ive tried all possible combinations of username & password like
system/manager
scott/tiger
admin/admin
but unable to log in to oracle 8i.pls help
I didn't mention anything in the space for Hoststring ,is it essential?

Did you start the database?
else goto control panel /services and start the oracle related services.

Login as sys/change_on_install or
system/manager ( these are the default ones. If you have changed these passcodes, you should know).

Well, scott tiger does'nt work here with 10g.
i faced the same problem and got to know that
username: system
password: the one you specified at the time of installation

Hi

At the time of installing the 10g, There is a option called password manager. In that we have to unlock the scott. In case u didn't unlock the option. no problem follow this steps

Using SQLPlusWorksheet, login as "system" using the password that you gave to system accounts when you installed oracle. Next, execute the following statements:



alter user scott account unlock;
grant connect, resource to scott;
