Hi,

I installed Personal Oracle 8i on my PC.
When i am logging in to db thru sqlplus it is
giving error like this.

ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist

Can anyone suggest wht might the problem.

And one more thing is..when i am trying to log in
as scott user it is giving user does not exist.
I donno why. I think every oracle database contains
that userid by default.

Please help.
