i have installed oracle 8 fro winnt. for some days it worked with out any problem. suddenly it says oracle not available. sga not initialised. how to solve this problem .please help me.

Hi,

It seems that oracle processess have not been started. To start them follow the following steps :

Open the DOS prompt

Enter svrmgrl

At svrmgr prompt issue: connect internal;

After connecting issue: startup

It will start the oracle process and you would be able to connect.

I am installing oracle 7 on my pc run time and developer 2000 forms 4.5 and report 2.3 the complete installaton is correct but while connecting from client machine to the server its give the error in log file by indicating C:MSOCKLIB.TXT and gives the message error in attaching SGA
