HAi
I have installed Oracle on ME but the database is not starting....
Instead the Idle Instance is starting and I'm unable to trace out what is the defaulet database provided with the Oracle 8i Personal Edition.

did u start the database and services?
goto controlpanel services and start all oracle related services.
optionally, you can set it to autostart, so that in event of reboot of PC, oracle start auotmatically
