Hi,

Oracle hangs while installing oracle 8.1.7 on  windows xp ,it will hang at 98% when installing  make.bat file.

I tried to deinstall and reinstall many times but all the time it stops at 98% (while installing make.bat File).

What could be the problem can any one suggest me.

Thanks

Shashi Kumar

Hi there,

I installed Oracle 8.1.6 on windows XP and it worked with me fine. I just need to start the database manually each time I start my pc.

I suggest that you stop all oracle running services and then delete your oracle folder (both database and developer). Then start a new installation. After you finish installation. you need to edit tns file manually. I will check what I have and write to you more later on ...
