Hello,
I ran into this problem yesterday. When i tried to install ora 9 rel 1 server software on my new dell inspiron laptop P4 3,03 Ghz 80 g hd. I made 3 partitions, first with xp home, second with xp pro and de rest is for a Linux red hat installation.
When i boot with xp pro and put in the oracle cd, the startup screen appear. Then when i select install, oracle install screen disapear.
The message window i get: cannot install java runtime enviroment to (home dir), can not start Oracle universal installer. Go to javasoft.com to install jre 1.1.7 and try again.
This i tried, but i get the same message. I tried to copied the install cd, and change de .dll's and still i does not work.
Please help!
