Hi
When I try to install oracle 817, the installer is not starting, while 9i universal installer 2.2 and 2.1 starting.
I tried to start 8i installer by clicking manually and also by autorun icon, still not starting.
But other setup.exe s of some other softwares are starting including 9i. I installed latest JRE 1.4.1 from java site too..
Do anybody has answer for this ?.

Thanks in advance
Ravi

Search for all copies of the 'symcjit.dll' file (Start>>Search>>Files and folders), and rename them to symcjit.old'.

Go to the install directory on your hard disk and open the 'oraparam.ini' file for editing (file is write-protected).
Change the JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS parameter to:
JRE_MEMORY_OPTIONS=-nojit -ms16m -mx32m
