I just installed Oracle 9i on my Win2k machine and created a database. For some reason the tns listner did not get configured as a service. So i have to explicity run tnslsnr.exe every time and make sure it is running before making any connection to the database.

As far as I remember it was not the same in 8i , it always used to be a service. Is it something different in 9i or did I miss some step to configure it as a service.

any clues??
