I have an IBM Thinkpad T23 P3 1.1Ghz w/ 256MB RAM runnng Windows 2000 Pro. I have the Oracle 8i Standard Edition for Windows NT/2000. I run AutoRun.exe and the 1st window screen comes up to install the program. I click on install, the next window appears, I then click on next and the disk goes into a frenzy of activity for 5-10 mins then the program dissapears with no error. Anyone have any ideas?

hello,
are u sure that u have a P3 processor ?
If u have a p4 installation procedure changes slightly..
In your case try dumping the CD into Harddrive and start the installation from Harddrive.

Also,if u aer installing oracle 8.1.6 version try istalling JRE in prior to installing oracle..
