Hi,
I am not able to instal oracle 8i and 9i with my win2k system. Even system is not detecting the CD at all. But there is no problem with CD and CD Drive, but system is not having network card. is this reason?. Please help me in this regard. Thanks in advance.

This is a known problem with the oracle installer. You should be able to download the updated installer from the oracle website. Also I have been told service pack 2 or 3 for windows fixes this but I have tried it myself.

i have winXP prof and pentium 4 i i have installed oralce 8i in my system and changed the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old and it worked fine when i login in through scott and tiger.
but when i restart the system and tried to login to oracle its says "oracle not availabe" could u pl help me in this regard
