I am using windows xp and I stopped almost all processes to delete core40.dll by ctr+alt+delete and process tab from the menu

I've encountered the problem with the DLL's being active and not being able to delete them...it is due to entries in the Registry and will continue to load the DLL so long as it can find it.

So to make sure it cannot be found, simply rename the root-level directory in which Oracle is installed: C:ORANT => C:DEL-ORANT

When you restart, the computer will be unable to locate and load the DLL's, then you can simply delete the directory.
