I am buying a PC with following configuration and I would like to know if it would support Oracle 8i and Java running on it.
Intel Celeron 1.3 GHz
Memory: 256MB RAM, 20GB Hard drive
It has a Win 2k installed on it. Your reply is highly appreciated.

You should be fine. However if you're running windows 2000 server, you should increase your memory to 512. Otherwise if you're planning on win2k pro, then 256 should be ok. I wouldn't use this for any production purpose. When you create your database , make sure your memory settings are set to small database type.
