Hi.
Thank everyone for this thread. I had exactly this problem - creating a database within Config Assistant. This discussion led me to the solution - or at least to the inexplicable workaround.
In my situation, my laptop was connected to the LAN as it ususally is. Given Jennifer's experience, I did exactly the inverse - I disconnected from the network. Then, the database created normally.
I'm certain there is something much more subtle happening.
