Hello There,

I had same problem, but managed to solve it. The solution is : Copy the whole contents of Oracle CD into your HD and search for *jit* file from there. You will find only one entry, Just rename this file to something else, and then run the setup from HD.

I got this info from one of my friend working at oracle corp. At the end, i managed to install oracle 8i on P4 system. That's what i wanted.

Hope this info will help you all.

Best regards,
/Senthil...

The file is SYMCJIT.DLL which has to be renamed to something like SYMCJIT.OLD. This solves the problem.
