While I am trying to install Oracle8 Personnel Edition in MS-WIndows 2000 OS It's showing me the following message.This version working fine in NT but showing the message in MS-Windows2000.
stopsrvc.vrf[[78]],Type mismatch in argument '0' when calling 'containts' stopsrvc.vrf[[78]];"STRING" expected when 'LIST' found.

there are ways to install oracle 8i on p4 and windows ME/NT/98/2000 machines.
Do a search on this website and you will find it.

The problem went away when I installed it on C: drive rather than my e: drive. Unfortunately, now I'm having a different problem further down the install but, this is progress!

I am continuously facing an error while installing Oracle 9i.

Installing Oracle 9i Client.
Operating System is Windows 98 Second Edition.

Error is : "Error in writing to directory C:WindowsTEMOraInstall2004-02-26_04-17-04PM. Please ensure that this directory is writable and has atleast 32 MB of disk space. Installation cannot continue."

Did you ever find a solution to this. I have been having the same problem for some time and have no idea how to fix it.
