Oracle 10g on Linux - dbca not starting [message #99240]

When I ran DBCA from cpmmand line I got the following error:
[[oracle@localhost oracle]]$ dbca
UnsatisfiedLinkError exception loading native library: njni10

This is after I got several make problems when I was installing.

Also, I got no errors when OUI was checking system b4 installation.

Hi,

The same issue right here after installing the Oracle 10g software then trying to run dbca

Hi All,

The problem was in RPM installation, the Oracle is running on Linux version 4 64 bit. Oracle needs to read some files in 32bit therefor i had to install some packages in 32bit and "relink" the executable files again.

To me the problem was the host name, check for a valid hostname and IP Address at /etc/hosts

I have done the installation of Oracle 10G Release 2 on Linux X86-64 bit. i am facing the same problem. dbca or netca is not starting giving the exception of njni10.

so can you specify as what you have done to resolve it, as what installations you have done of 32 packages, and how to relink.

Make sure you have ALL the required rpm's installed included the 32-bit rpms (Installation of Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) on RedHat EL 3, 4, 5 and (Oracle) Enteprise Linux 4, 5).

The problem is in the binutils package. i have the RHEL AS4 update 2 (x86-64) in which there is old binutils for which the oracle 10g is not compatible. so it can be Downloaded from here.
