We use Reflection terminal emulation via telnet.  This uses, by default, the HP Roman8 character set.  You can also use HP Roman9, which is the same as Roman8, but includes the Euro symbol.

What setting should I use for NLS_LANG for Roman9?  Currently we use WE8ROMAN8, but this corrupts the Euro symbol.

As far as I know, the only difference between Roman8 and Ronman9 is that the same codepoint sputnik (¤) has been replaced with euro (€). If you can't even see a skutnik, then it may be some Reflection or X-windows setting. I'd be keen to hear if you find a solution.

Andrew, I agree - the difference between Roman8 & Roman9 is sputnik to euro.

Yes, if I change my reflection settings to Roman8 or use an windows client to view the data, I see a sputnik.

Note, we are NOT using X-windows.
