I'm some what of an experienced novice, if that makes sense, in respect to installing various versions of Linux like Slackware, Caldera, Debian, Redhat, etc... But as far as installing Oracle, I've been successful by installing Oracle 7 & 8 on Win NT 4 and Win 98, but never on any Linux platform, because I’ve never tried before. So before I go out and buy the latest version of Mandrake which I think is 8.2, and D/L the latest version of Oracle 9i for Linux (I think that’s the right version) what should I know, expect and prepare before hand? Also, if someone knows of a good bundled package of these goodies (also including PM’s Boot Magic) that might be at places like Microcenter, CompUSA, etc… Please chime in and if you have an ISBN number that would be great. Thanks in advanced. Jay

you can download mandrake 8.2
mandrake is awesome!
i think better than redhat.
anything you can do in redhat you can do in mandrake, but with more ease.
