I am trying to understand why I am recieving the following error:

Thrown when the IP address of the host cannot be determined

Same problem with oracle9i on redhat 7.2. The system is multihomed, I dont know if that matters.

I have the same message during the installation
on Tru64 5.0a of oracle 8.1.7 release 3
Thrown when the IP address of the host cannot be determined

I have no idea where it comes from.

In The File /etc/hosts
enter
this information

IpAddress Hostname
