Hi,
I tried to install oracle 9i Application server and I am getting an error (which says "Not all the dependencies for the component Oracle Enterprise Manager Common Files 2.2.0.0.0. are found. Missing Component oracle.swd.jre 1.1.8.10.0.") and the installation terminates immediately. I have installed oracle 9i database (which was downloaded from the oracle site). I was able to install 9i application server when i had 8i database in my machine.
I had uninstalled 8i dabase and installed 9i database in my machine and tried to install 9i app server and got this problem. Any suggestion on this problem is very much appreciated.

Hi,

I got the same problem, and I think I have solved it. At least I was able to install now.

The following is the situation:
9iAS gets shipped with an older version of ORACLE Installer then 9i Database. When you first install 9i DB, the Inventory is not perfectly readable for an older version of the Universal Installer. That is the reason it fails when looking for this resource. When you have installed an 8.1.7 Database, it works, because the Installer is the same as the one of 9iAS.

In order to install, do not start the installer on the CD, instead use the one on the local mashine (provided by 9i DB - Universall Installer 2.0.1). Enter the path to your CD when prompted...

Cristian is right. I used different Universal Installer (I used one from 9i Client CD) and just changed the source path to point to the right jar file and it worked. Good Luck!

I had some problem and tried this way:

Try to launch from the Start>Programs>Oracle Installation Products>Universal Installer Instead of launching install.exe from the CD and manage the products from the list while 9iAS CD1 in the CD drive.

this way worked just fine on my computer I am not sure it'll work on yours. Good luck

Hi,

I am trying to run rapid install for installing 11i but after I place the cd1 (8i) it shows me the error saying jre not found even though I have the jre on the system.

Here's another way to get around this issue.
run this file, which is the installer.

C:Program FilesOracleouiinstallsetup.exe

I have 8i & 9i installed, when I tried installing the MGMT server for 8i, i got this error. Used the above setup.exe and life was good there on...

The java Run Time Environment was not found ...jrew.exe. Hence, The Oracle Universal Intaller connot be run.-
Install JRE Version 1.1.7 or Higher and try again

I am also dealing with the same problem.I have been asked for jrew.exe of jre 1.1.7 . And also that thje whole jre 1.1.7.
If u have solved ur problem pls help overhere also.

In short: Copy the first install disk to your hard disk. Search for file oraparam.ini and fix the JRE_LOCATION= line to point to your jre directory.
