What is the meaning of this error in Oracle..
ORA-12560 TNS:protocol adapter error
I am getting this error when i am trying to log in to oracle, other than user name & password it asks me for the machine name even.

Ensure that the parameters used for the connect string (within the TNSNAMES.ORA) are correct. You may want to compare the values with whats within the LISTENER.ORA file on the server to ensure they match.
