Hi,
I have the following sp on oracle 8i using the XML Parser for PL/SQL
Why doesnt the line
searchName:=xmldom.getNodeValue(xmldom.item(XML_NodeList,0));
return me the node value "foobar"?
TIA
Note Input Param listed in subject (value has been escaped).
Stored Proc is below:
PROCEDURE GetEntitiesNew(SearchParams IN VARCHAR2)
IS
searchType VARCHAR2(100);
searchName PROPSD_ENTITY.NAME%TYPE;
queryContext DBMS_XMLQuery.ctxType;
XML_Parser xmlparser.parser;
XML_Doc xmldom.DOMDocument;
XML_NodeList xmldom.DOMNodeList;
BEGIN
XML_Parser :=xmlparser.newparser;
xmlparser.parsebuffer(XML_Parser,SearchParams);
XML_Doc:=xmlparser.getDocument(XML_Parser);
XML_NodeList:=xmldom.getElementsByTagName(XML_Doc,'*');
searchName:=xmldom.getNodeValue(xmldom.item(XML_NodeList,0));
dbms_output.put_line('here it is ' || searchName);
END GetEntitiesNew;
