In the ER diagram if we have a table thats a linking table used for a many to many relationship between 2 tables.. it is shown as a kite in the ER diagram...
So what if linking table has more fields apart from the PK of the two tables its meant to link? Can it still be shown as a relation (kite) or does it have to shown as a element then?
what does the double line mean between the linking table and one table...

Hola:
Disculpa que te escriba, pero estoy desesperado por no encontrar información para diseñar lo siguiente:
Tengo tres tablas como ejemplo
Empleados, clientes y Personas
Una persona con ID = 1 es mi PK de la tabla personas pero quiero que sea FK de la tabla Empleados “o” FK de la tabla Clientes.
No se como construir esto.
Quisa me puedas ayudar con esto.

Yes, even if the linking table has more fields apart from the PK's of the two tables, it can still be shown as a relation (kite).
The double line means that the table (whihc is connected via a double line to the linking table) is dependent on the linking table. In other words its a weak entity.
