Hi,

I have installed oracle 9i on Win 2k.

When i Create a new database by using "Database configuration assistant" it creates total 9
.dbf files.

like SYSTEM01.DBF, TOOLS01.DBF,UNDOTBS01.DBF,USERS01.DBF,TEMP01.DBF etc

what I want to know is , if i login with default user : "scoot", "tigger" and create some tables,

where is this information stored ?

if i need to create new application and assign new tablespace and users do i need to create new datafile for this?

hello mr or mrs omkar :
you should know that for every user there is a default tablespace and temporary tablespace.
default talespace for scott user is system so when you connect by scott user and create a table then records of this table will store in system tablespace but i suggest you that don't craete table in this tablespace.
to replay another your ask i said yes you should create new datafile or files for your tablespace .
