hello
I wanted to know what is the difference between a Bitmap report and a Character report

Bitmapped reports support all kind of Colors, All Drawings, mutlimedia things. Where as Character reports supports only Ascii texts(normal/bold/italic),lines(vertical/horizontal..No diagnoal) only.
Each character cell holds only one character, resulting in each character occupying same amount of space in the output; hence, the output uses fixed fonts, as opposed to proportional fonts used in
bitmapped reports.
By default, Report offers Bitmapped report. Which is mostly used to glamorise report.
99% of reports are character reports and following are the most important things to be taken care of.
To start with a character report :-
In report properties,
Under the Character Mode node, Set Design in Character Units to Yes. and in Data Model->System Parameters->Mode, set Value property to Character.
