to oracle's gods

i'm new to oracle forms 6i. but i been using forms 5 and report 3.

can u tell me what are the hidden advantages of forms6i and how to use tre list element and

i'm not able to run my form on web

it gives me error
While trying to retrieve the URL: http://10.235.1.11:1677/dev60cgi/ifcgi60.exe?

may be it's regarding port.

can u tell me how to find the port number of local machin

coz my form is @ local machin

i know toooo many question. but at list ans. what ever u know god.....

Not being a God I am unsure if I can assist in all your devine needs but......

6i was quite a step from 4 (but not much from 5) assuming you don't class Web-enabled as much.

I assume by Tree Lsit Element you mean HTREE?
If so look at Oracle.com they have some info. But also look at CONNECT BY clauses as you will need this to get the tree to populate from record group.

Local machine is 127.0.0.1, and the standard form server port is 7778 - but this will not work unless you have an Application Server running - do you?
NB: form command line type IPCONFIG /ALL for futher network info

I think that the last of your questions - hope its been helpful.

Additional: 6i was good client Server, but I don't believe it was 'much cop' via a browser - ever thought about sticking to client Server or upgrading to 10g?
