Can i use developer 2k in standalone environment?if yes then how to make those changes to make the personal computer as client and server both.i am using sql as backend.after installation the sql gives me an error"Unable to connect to destination".

Hi
I understand you are trying to use D2K with Personel Oracle in the Same machine.
In this case you need to choose a different Oracle home for D2K and Oracle
If you are using Personel Oracle make sure to Mount the Database before connecting to Sql
