hi,

I am migrating my application from oracle 8i to oracle 9i.the middle tier is VB and front end is ASP.

I need to know the impact on the VB code due to migration from 8i to 9i.

There are thousands of queries and stored procedures which will be migrated to 9i. What are the potential bottlenecks to watch out for

This is mainly from code porting point of view.

thanks

arun.

All of the existing SQL run the same, but the 9i PL/SQL compiler is stricter than in 8i. A common error encountered is when the parameter defaults in package Specs and Bodies don't match exactly. Try to compile the 8i code in 9i and then just fix the Spec or Body. It't quick to fix and doesn't require much skill once you've decided if the Spec or Body is right...
