Hi

Is is possible to publish an xml message from oracle to a target node on the occurence of  some event viz insert event on a table. if so, how to do it?

Yes, using Oracle Workflow (comes with 9i Enterprise) you can do it. One way is to simply raise the event (say from a pl/sql trigger) which can generate an XML message. You then subscribe to that event. You can possibly do without the events and still generate the XML message by "sending" and event. I don't have an example - try otn Workflow forum (it under "database").
