Part of the entry in my listner.ora file (for Oracle 8i on Solaris) is given below:
LISTENER =
(DESCRIPTION_LIST =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC))
)
My external procedures are working fine with the KEY name as "EXTPROC".
Does the key name "EXTPROC" have any special significance? Can it be replaced by "EXTPROC0" or any other name?
I am aware of the fact that if I change this name, I will have to make corresponding change in tnsname.ora file.
Thanx in advance.
