Hi,
I followed the manual install steps for 8.05. Everything was installed fine. When I went to test, I received an error when I tried to "exec ctx_ddl.create_index('CTXTEST_POL');" -- it could not find the file ora806.dll. I could not find it on any of the CD's I have. Where should I be able to find it. Also, is Context a service that should be running? If so, does anyone have instructions on how to do that (I thought the instructions Oracle would have given me would have included that).

What you might do is find the Technical Overview for your release of the product.
Garrett Kaminaga has done the recent ones. Not sure about pre-8.1.5 techovers.
You do need to set environment variables and make adjustments to ensure that OFA directories are just right.
