What if Master Definition Site is down? [message #75432] Tue, 16 December 2003 22:43

I have databases on 3 remote sites-A,B,C : which need to be replicated. I am using multimaster replication to do so. 'A' is made the Master Definition Site, 'B' and 'C' are master sites. I'm using scripts to automatically include all the master sites and objects of each schema. The two-way database links are created using global_database_name, as follows:
A to B and B to A.
A to C and C to A.
If 'A' crashes, will it still be able to replicate between B and C?
To achieve replication between B and C, do I need to
1. create links between B and C also and since it is asynchronous- it will maintain deftrans
OR
2. do I need to switchover the definition site to any of other masters-if possible.
Please help me to provide fault tolerance in case 'A' fails.
Thanx in advance,
Sushma.
