I tried to install Oracle 8.1.6 for Windows NT/Windows 2000. During the Database Creation Progress(initializing database) I get the ORA-03113:end-of-file on communication channel. There is an option to abort or ignore, I chose ignore and the installation process hangs.

Hi
i have W2K then i cannot install SP6, and also setting pool size dont help me. Only one solution is remove net cable from network card before login to domain (after login connect it back). Then the oracle run OK. I think when the services are started when you are logged to domain it does not work. Or anyone have better solution ?

Disconnecting from the domain as a solution the hallmark of an authentication problem.
Suggest tinker with remote_login_password_file
and set to SHARED, or NONE, or EXCLUSIVE. I believe one of these settings will fix the need to pull the RJ45 out of the domain network.

Hi gurus,
I am trying to install oracle 8.1.7 on a winxp p4 pc at end while creating database it gives me this error ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel and i have got only ignore and abort.
if i go for ignore it hangs the pcs and does nothing and if i abort the error then it completes the process but database does not creates.
And i need to install it urgently. Need help urgently.
