Hi,
Can you run OPS even though the database is being opened by a single instance? I'm trying to enact parallelism on my node. I have 4 cpu's, and only one is utlized for the large joins I am trying to excute. All of my joins are on indexed/parallelised tables, but I'm not getting all the hardware resources to commit to the oracle server. Thanks!

HI,
I think you are confusing OPS ( Oracle parallel sever ) with parallel query. OPS is a clustered solution where you can have more than one instance access the same database.

The database resides on raw device and is shared among multiple nodes.
