Help! any suggestion beside listed below by oracle expert response from oracle TAR below:
### Specific details about the problem you encountered during RMAN session: ###
I have created a RMAN to backup the target database through a harddisk and it
is working fine.
I have read through the Note:66333.1 and understand that the procedure to do in
order to use RMAN backup through a tape. I am using a HP/Compaq 4mm Internal
20/40-GB DAT DDS-4 Tape Drive and the Legato Networker 5.7. Unfortunely I get
this error "ORA-19511: SBT error 7501 in function sbtinit2 - sbterror did not
return error message"
I understand that this problem may due to compatibiilty of LSM and the tape
device. I have a few server is using this tape drive and would like to know is
there any way to upgrade the Legato or the Media Management Software.
### Target database alert.log: ###

New info : I try to use the backup tools in the Enterprise Manager and it seem
that is not working when I bakcup to tape but is working if I backup to the
local drive.
Is the backup utility in the Enterprise Manager will use the same Media
Management Software (Legato Networker 5.7)?
So is that means that I cannot backup the oracle database using the tape via
RMAN or Enterprise Manager?
It sound weird, because I can use the tape drive from the windows backup tool,
and also I can mount the tape and eject the tape from the GUI at Legato
Networker.

As I said above. The tape drive is not compatible. It does not matter if you use OEM or not.
Read the note above again.
Thanks Derek.

New info : Thanks a lot.
That means I need to backup the database to harddisk first then only use the
Windows tools to backup to tape.
Is this only the solution without changing the tape drive?
or can you suggest us other solution?

No. Sounds like a solution.
I would think of getting a compatible tape drive however.
