Hi,
I'm trying to start OMS with oemctrl start oms. Before that I need to run EMCA, but somehow it won't work. I'm running Oracle8 on Unix system and I get the following error while running EMCA:

[[oracle@oracletest oracle]]$ emca
Oracle Enterprise Manager Version 2.2.0.0.0 - Configuration Assistant
java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.ewt.lwAWT.BufferedFrame._init(Unknown Source)

at oracle.sysman.vto.VtoWizardApplication.<init>(VtoWizardApplication.java:46)
at oracle.sysman.vte.repmgr.RepositoryMgrApp.<init>(RepositoryMgrApp.java:179)
at oracle.sysman.vte.repmgr.RepositoryMgrApp.main(RepositoryMgrApp.java:105)

It would be nice to know how to fix this problem?
Thnx,
Jani

please first check your DISPLAY parameters or if working from remote make sure u use x-win
else
please lookin your oms.nohup and provide more information about your oracle version.release,
OEM versions etc, OS details etc.

Hello!
Well, I'm trying to start the EMCA from SSH client, so I think SHH client has no possibility for x-win use.
Our Oracle 8.1.7 is running on a Linux OS and I'm trying to configure there an OMS server that we could use Oracle Enterprise Manager from our client computers (Windows 2000).
Oracle Enterprise Manager for Windows gives me VTK-1000 error which says: Unable to connect to the management server ***.***.***.***. Please verify that u have entered the correct host name and th e status of the oracle management server.
I think that means our OMS is not running and listening.
Thanks,
Jani
