Hi,

I hv installed orcle9i standard edition on windows XP. The day i installed it , i was successful in logging on to the Oracle Enterprise manager using sysman/oem_temp Maangement server=localhost. I even changed the password of sysman to manager.

But today(ie couple of days later) when i tried logging on using sysman/manager Mgmt server=localhost i get this error "VTK1000 - Unable to connect to mgmt server"

I checked the My computer-services option and there it shows
Mgmt server status=blank and startup type = Manual

I dont know how to proceed or rectify this problem. Somebody pls help

Thnx and regds

OEM shoots VTK-1000 error if OMS service is not started or OEM repository does't exist.
as per you posting it seems that you didnt start the service.
so in control panel/services start the services for OEM, Inteligent agent etc and make it auotmatic.

Thanks for the reply. I opened services and started every Oracle service there was. I did not see any service for "OEM, Inteligent agent".

So this did not work for me. I still cannot logon.

By the way, I'm using Windows 2003 Server and Oracle 9i.

did you start your intelligent agent?
it should something like oracleAgentservice.

Did you install OMS and agents, create repository, etc?
