Hi all, i am getting the error
Error - ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
can any body give me solution
I am in ORacle 9i
and Linux 8.1 Profesional

are you sure that the database is up and running ? Pls check if all oracle processes (pmon, smon, arch, ...) are running.
Second thing can be that the Oracle_SID is not set. If you set ORACLE_SID and try to connect again, than it should work
