Hai all,

I have developed an application with Personal Oracle 8i as backend.  When my client opens my application, he gets the following error.

ORA-12549 - Cant attach to Oracle. TNS exceed limit

Can any one help.  It is very urgent.

i think the os resources are not enough for the process.
Can u throw some more RAM into the machine?
and how many databases u have in the same machine and opened in the same time?
in some cases, in a certain windows versions with oracle personal editions, there a default ORACLE_SID registerd in the windows registry.
if that ORACLE_SID is different from your, change it and try again. again it is a reource problem only.
i beleive,windows looks into this setting in registry and allocates some resources to that.
Once you free that, you can use them to ur datbase.
