Hi,
I have tried configuring a Names Server.But its giving a timeout error.I have folloeed these steps:-
1.> Litener Service stopped.
2.> through network Assi GUI, create new names Server.
a.>Enter name server being created
I have entered <databasename>.<machinename>.com
b.>Then port as 1521
c.> use region database
d.> Listener addrees
e.> Datavbase username (SYS)
But when i try to clieck on the Conrtrol tab under the Manage server option and clieck check status it gives me an error NNL-00006 timeout server is not responding. I suspect i am wrong at first step. Please let me know wherer i am wrong and how to setup with it. Adn also how then we can configure the clients without tnsnames.ora file.
