i am having PIV win 2000. i try to install oracle 8i client version in win 2000. iwll not installed. plz. help me what is the problem.

1. Copy the entire CD to a temp directory in Harddisk
2. look for the filename symcjit.dll.
3. Rename each copy of the symcjit.dll to symcjit.old.
4. Run the setup.exe from the Harddisk.

i am having PIV win XP. i try to install oracle 8i personal edition. it cannot write few files like oracore8.dll. after insatalation it cannot run sql. plz. help me what is the problem.

search for sym*.dll
and delete it
then restart setup

I am having PIV 2.6 GHZ system but i am not able to install oracle8i(release : 2)
