how to connect to remote oracle server by using oracle client network assistant...yu what are the parameters are requied to connect to the remote server...

In network Assistant there is option Net8 Assistant
click on local then on service naming and then click on plus sign on left side , enter Net Service Name DB
select TCP/IP ,enter host name (server name i,e m/c name on which u have DB server),enter Service Name then test it and say finish .

conn system/manager@DB

and now host name is the name of your databse server and service name is the name of your DATABASE (the name of databse which you have given while installation if you don't know that , go to init.ora on server and see the db_name parameter which will give you the name of server )
