Hi, hope someone can help me out with this one. I have a cmd file (Win2K) that executes on a scheduled basis. In this file, I call sqlplus and try to connect to a db which opens up another window. What happens sometimes is I can't get a connection (tns-12203) and the second window remains open. When this happens the cmd file is locked.

What I would like to know is if it's possible to somehow make the second window close when it can't connect, so the scheduled job can run again. I do have a "whenever sqlerror exit failure" statement in the sql. Thanks very much!

I hope if you will set the time for scheduled task to stop job if it fails. There is an option in scheduled task window. Check that option.
